HHMF is proud to have volunteered for the 8th Annual Detroit Doll Show.  The doll show, which brought out over 1,000 people, is hosted by Sandra Epps of Sandy’s Land.  Themed, ‘Love the skin you’re in,” girls were able to see and purchase dolls that reflect their culture and history of communities of color. The show also included arts and craft activities, head wrapping workshops, a spoken word performance, a mini playhouse, and a doll look-alike contest.

The HHMF members had a blast! They were excited to experience an event so rich in pride, culture, self-esteem, and self-love. They’re looking forward to going back next year!
